Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church, Athens provides opportunities for women to share in mission, study, worship, and fellowship. By engaging in a number of mission opportunities, service projects, Bible studies, and fellowship gatherings we seek God's will for us as women of the church. This is best summed up by our statement of purpose:

Presbyterian Women
Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study.
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace, and
To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Through such programs as the "Second Mile Giving", which supports activities such as the Presbyterian Children's Home in Talladega, AL, Sheldon Jackson Junior College in Sitka, AK, and the Supplemental Tuition Fund for Little Angels Preschool at First Presbyterian Church, Athens, we engage in mission on a local and worldwide scale. Through the various circles, Sunshine Circle, Twilight Circle, and Care and Share Circle, our women have opportunities for study and fellowship. By providing kitchen support for various church activities we serve our local congregation. These are just some of the ways in which Presbyterian Women enable the women of FPC to actively pursue our purpose as a "caring community of women."
